Graduating from high school is an exciting and scary experience. Most people are happy to be done and can't wait to move on with their lives, others are celebrating and preparing themselves to go off to college.
No matter what your plans are for after high school, one thing is guaranteed; things are going to change. People move on, people grow up, people change; life as you knew it in high school is different. You have to adapt to the changes and realize this is life now, this is how it's gonna be. Now almost five years after graduating, I've seen how many things can change and how many things can stay the same. Here are some things I've noticed after leaving my high school. 1. There are two types of people;
2. You find out who your friends are - Graduating is the real test of friendship. One of your friends will most likely move far enough away that it will test your true friendship. If you're lucky, you'll stay in contact and your friendship will never change. The reality is some friends will move away and change. You just have to come to terms with the fact that that part of your life has changed. 3. You change - Not only do your looks change, but your personality changes slightly. Within these years, you hopefully grow up, realize you need to make some healthy changes for yourself, and make yourself a better person. The important part is to make positive, not negative changes. 4. You become more experimental and carefree - In high school, most people do care what other people think. After, you seem to not give a shit what anyone thinks. You wear what you want without being afraid of judgment. You let go and be yourself. You try new things, this is the time for you to experiment and make mistakes. Whatever you do, make it fun and worth it. No regrets. You can probably think of many more things that change after high school for you. Just be prepared for change and embrace it!
