I’m sure you’ve heard the song “Titanium” by David Guetta and Sia. If you haven’t, take a listen because you’ve been hiding under a rock for some time now.
I absolutely love this song, still. The beats are awesome, upbeat, jammable. Then you listen to the lyrics and what they mean; deep, meaningful, inspiring.
This is why this song is my life anthem, my life’s theme song. With the combination of the beat and lyrics, it’s perfect. Especially the lyrics, they are just, what is another word for perfect?
So I’m going to convince you to make this your anthem too. Why? I don’t know, because these lyrics just need to be heard.
Put on the song, listen to the lyrics, feel the music. This my translation of the song and what it means.
This song is all being strong, being the bigger person in all situations. I’m not going to listen to the bad things you have to say to me, no matter how many times you voice them or how loudly. It’s not gonna get through to me, I’m wearing a shield to fend off your hurtful words and actions (bullets.) I may get down, feel awful, but you better believe I’m getting up, you won’t keep me down.
I’m bulletproof. So fire away, fire away, because you’re not getting in my head. You’re trying and trying to bring me down. You shoot me down, but I won’t fall, and why you ask? I’m titanium. I’m a strong, a force to be reckoned with. You think you’re getting through this? Try again, I am powerful! (And so is this beat now.)
This verse get’s a little more deeper than the first one in meaning. You cut me down, but you’ll have further to fall. Opinion, with karma, you’ll get yours for what you’re doing to me. You are attacking me in the first place with no cause, but for the thrill. In the end, you’ll fall alone. Sticks and stones may break my bones, and maybe my retaliation, if any, means nothing to you. In fact, you think it means nothing.
Chorus. (Yes, I am titanium, b*itch.)
Not a lyric expert, but what I hear. You have a stone cold heart and you’re firing at the ones who run, the ones who don’t want any of it. You love that bullet proof glass, even though you are trying so hard, there’s no getting through.
I won’t fall, I am titanium. Shoot me down all you want, but I will still be hear standing in the end. You, will fall. I, will stand tall, strong, invincible to your torture.
Did I convince you, at all? Titaniums unite!
